Here the 80% of the nation on the left and center of the parabola tends to show a 97% correlation where higher military spending seemingly leads to higher regional growth rates. This apparent growth is created by a "robbing Peter to pay Paul" effect as low military states have their growth robbed to stimulate high military states. The real story is in the 20% on the right side, California and the Missouri state cluster with Utah, Kansas, and Mississippi. There a kind of Poisson distribution sets in where highly militarized state economies are so over stimulated with military spending that there is an economic boomerang effect with those states having increasing poor results as the military economy drives out the good normal healthy economy in those states. This pattern of military buildup, realestate excesses, and eventual stall leading to financial problems (Savings and Loan bailout) is later repeated in the Bush buildup decade after 9-11-01. Order the tapes or Real Economy book for details on this and other unusual phenomena.
